It’s Tatung’s TTAB-B12D.

Here are the specs:
Intel Centrino 1.4 GHz CPU
512 MB RAM
60 GB hard drive
12″, 1024×768 tablet display (Wacom enabled)
Light sensor
b/g WLAN card
Ethernet card
IrDA
External VGA, sound, 2xUSB, FireWire, modem & PCMCIA ports
Fingerprint reader
5 hours battery life on my extended battery.

All this is managed by Windows XP Tablet PC edition.

I find this device very handy. It is a great tool for taking notes at lectures, watching movies or just reading some information. If needed, it can be converted in to full-fledged laptop by attaching a keyboard and trackpad.

Originally it weighed 1.4 kg, but I put an extended battery on it, which upgraded lifetime from 1.5 to 5 hours, but also added extra 0.5 kg. Oh well, I can live with it.

All in all, I recommend slate Tablet PC devices very much – they’re very useful and compact, and can be turned into real laptops if you need one.

One thing it lacks is the CD device, but I find it amusing to see that I’m the only person that does not miss it. Everyone else who would like to borrow my laptop “just for a second” doesn’t do it, because there is no optical drive – I start to think it’s a feature, not a disadvantage.
