March 30th, 2008Wordpress 2.5

I have just upgraded my blog engine to Wordpress 2.5 Yep, I know it’s a bit early, but all the new features look promising, I’ve already seen some positive reviews of it, and - best of all - the new admin panel interface is very neat.

See the new admin interface yourselves:

And this is how it looked like in the old, 2.4 interface:

The new panel is more clear, colours are less intrusive, it’s much more web2.0-ish. Now we just need rounded corners and “make friend” button ;)

I found just one issue - the new multi-file picutre upload panel doesn’t work in Opera. But I’m getting used to new Javascript features not working in Opera…

February 23rd, 2008WWW in Braille

For all of you taking care of web accessibility - it might be a good idea for a logo or a symbol you would use on your website. It’s simply “www” in Braille alphabet.

January 18th, 2008Second bubble

I might be a bit late here, but I just found that we already have a Wikipedia article on Web 2.0 dot-com bubble, AKA Bubble 2.0. There’s a lot of speculation on if it’s really true or not, but we know something’s going on, and we’ll see in the next two or three years how it develops.

Of course deep in our hearts, we all know that there’s absolutely no bubble in technology, right?

January 12th, 2008Web -2.0

I just found an idea for Web -2.0. Or Web 3.0 (ooops, that’s already taken). Or whatever number you put on it.

Let’s reverse the “friend” relation. Let’s make all people friends by default, then allow them only to “unfriend”. This way your database doesn’t grow when people friend each other - you just keep the non-friendly ones.

Then you add extra thing: hate relation. Not that you’re not frined with somebody, you simply hate that guy.

Maybe you can even put a special christmas feature: I kill you.

:)
