70-290: one step closer

I just passed 70-290 exam and am happily one step closer to MCSA. Hooray!

Virtual world

Virtualisation is coming more and more into our lives.

Right now I’m setting up a “jail” XP virtual machine to install a stubborn application there (that doesn’t work with Vista and is sometimes affected by patches, so it needs a special treatment) and playing around with XP Mode in Windows 7 RC on my laptop. At the same time, I have another virtual machine opened, where I’m connected through Citrix client to a remote access machine at work, which is, guess what, just a virtual box running on some access farm.

I know it’s a bit geeky, but wait 3-4 years and you’ll see the same amount of virtualisation in regular people’s lives.

Windows 7 (RC) and Option GT Max

I just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 RC on my Lenoto T60 laptop and almost everything worked like a charm.

It really is faster than Vista, boots up faster, eats up less memory etc. Most software works just fine, drivers downloaded automatically, but…

Option GT Max lacking driver for Windows 7

But there’s just one small glitch – my Option GT Max has no drivers for it. The 64-bit drivers from Option website also don’t work – I can install them but then modem just replies that it’s currently busy and I cannot make a connection.

Hope it gets solved, I really like my mobile Internet.
